On Monday, April 3, 2023 the PMS and PHS Jazz Bands, directed by Dr. Andria Mullan, will present two shows at Yoshi’s in Jack London Square (510 West Embarcadero).  A variety of selections from the Latin, swing, and funk genres will be performed throughout the evening with many featured student soloists.  

This special evening of jazz music is a fundraiser for the Jazz Band program.  The 6:30 pm show will feature the 7th Grade Jazz Band, PHS Combo I,  and PHS Jazz Band.  The 8:30 pm show will feature the 8th Grade Jazz Band and Combo, PHS Jazz Band and PHS Combo II.  PLEASE NOTE: the middle school groups will each only perform at one showtime. 

Ticket prices are $25.00 per show.  Once we sell $2,000.00 worth of tickets, any additional revenues go to the PHS/PMS Band program.  This year we plan to use the money to focus on brass instruments; we plan to purchase at least one new trombone and one new trumpet. 

With last year's proceeds we purchased two new tenor saxophones and an alto saxophone and those instruments will be used in this Yoshi’s performance!   In past years, proceeds from this annual fundraiser have enabled us to purchase:  alto, tenor, and bass saxophones cases, 2 amps, speakers, concert snare drum, bari sax mouthpieces, 20 new music stands, and a variety of percussion accessories.
