Students in the Piedmont Unified School District (PUSD) have once again demonstrated exceptional academic performance on the California Assessments of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) for the 2024-2025 school year. The newly released reports place PUSD among the highest-achieving districts in California, underscoring the success of the District's instructional programs and the dedication of its students and staff.

KEY ACHIEVEMENTS HIGHLIGHTED:

  • Top Statewide Ranking: PUSD is ranked #3 in English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics among unified school districts in California.
  • Northern California Leader: The District achieved the #1 ranking in Northern California for both ELA and Math performance.
  • High Proficiency Rates: For ELA, 85% of PUSD students met or exceeded the state standard. In Mathematics, 82% of students met or exceeded the state standard.
  • Science Success: PUSD ranked #4 in Science proficiency statewide.
  • Perfect Scores: A total of 92 students achieved a perfect result in at least one of the CAASPP exams

District schools showed significant academic growth in key areas. Piedmont High School (PHS) saw an increase of +3.% in the percentage of students meeting or exceeding the ELA standard, and +2% increase in Math compared to the previous year. Millennium High School (MHS) also saw significant growth in Math proficiency, with a +9% year-over-year change in students meeting or exceeding the standard. Likewise, Piedmont Middle School student proficiency increased by 4% in Math over 2024 levels.

"We are incredibly proud of our students for their remarkable achievements on the CAASPP assessments this year," said Superintendent Jennifer Hawn, Ed.D.. "These results are a testament to the hard work and rigor applied by our students, the unwavering commitment of our educators, and the strong partnership with our families."

The CAASPP system is a collection of computer-based assessments in English Language Arts/Literacy, Mathematics, and Science, designed to measure student progress relative to California’s goals for learning and college and career readiness. These results reflect the District's commitment to rigorous instruction and student success. The results are publicly available as of October 9, 2025.

New student enrollment for the 2026-27 school year opens January 14th!  Piedmont residents with children not currently attending Piedmont schools - new kindergarteners or a student switching to Piedmont schools - are invited to start the enrollment process.
