Joint Letter Between the PUSD Board of Education and the Piedmont City Council

Monday, November 21st, 2016 - Posted in District Communications

Reactions to the national election and recent alarming acts of prejudice and bigotry in Piedmont have led us to reflect on our values and who we are as community leaders. While we may have differing political, religious, social, or sexual orientations, we each feel strongly that, at our very core, we value diversity, respect, and inclusivity.

The Piedmont Unified School District Board of Education and the City of Piedmont City Council collaborated to develop a joint letter that addresses our collective belief that a safe and civil environment in our schools and across Piedmont is paramount.

This letter has been distributed to all PUSD support groups, parent clubs, families, and students in grades 7 – 12.  It will be read at the November 21, 2016 City Council Meeting.
