SCIENCE/HEALTH

In the seventh grade students are exposed to an overview of the different human body systems through a thematic approach that integrates the chemistry, physics, and biology of the human body.  Supplementary units covering sex education, S.T.D.’s, drug education, nutrition, and eating disorders are covered.  Students also study the physics of motion through a unit on simple machines.  Topics such as speed, balance, friction, and kinetic and potential energy are studied using hands-on activities and an inquiry approach.
