The Green Team—
For Sustainable Selves, Schools, and Economics
Are you concerned about the Environment? Are you looking for an opportunity to explore, or make, the shift to a more Green, sustainable way of living? Are you looking for a new opportunity to provide service and leadership on campus? Join The Green Team! Along with specific guidance, structure and lessons, this class will build on a model of student empowerment and collaboration. You will take responsibility and action on a daily basis– to Green yourself, our school, and the community. You will decide how to make a better future today. You will DO in this class.

Specific Program Goals:
- Reduce our ‘ecological footprint’
- Assist in the implementation of the new PUSD Green Initiative
- Tie environmental issues to economic issues; think globally, act locally
- Connect with local Green organizations, such as: the PHS Environmental Student Union, Earth Team, The Watershed Project, The Center for Eco-literacy, and The Green Schools Initiative
- Involve and connect students to other students, adults, and communities
- Projects and campaigns to be determined by Green Team members
- Grow and maintain school garden for learning, eating and contemplating.
