Drama

Students will be introduced to the basic elements of acting and theater.  This may include creative movement, stage combat, theater games, improvisation, short plays, and monologues.  Students will work individually and in groups.  Emphasis will be on creativity, building group cohesion, elevating confidence, and performing in front of class members and, occasionally, school audiences.  Come have fun and bring out the performer in you.

Shakespeare

Sword fighting! Stage combat! Improv! Romance! Comedy! Tragedy! Ghosts! Masques! Dance! This exciting theater-based class will take William Shakespeare’s plays off the page and onto the stage! Students will dive into Shakespeare’s comedies and tragedies thorough art projects, theater games, scene performance, a field trip to see a professional Shakespeare play, and instruction from guest artists.
