Peer Tutoring and After-School Study Support

updated: August 10, 2017

Receiving Peer Tutoring

Free tutoring is available from students who can help you better understand difficult concepts and improve your general study habits.

The white Peer Tutors binder in the Counseling Office has listings of current tutors and the subjects in which they can help.

Being a Peer Tutor

Becoming a tutor is a great opportunity for you to help younger students who are struggling with concepts which you understand. You can earn community service hours to help you meet the PHS Honor Society requirements. No prior tutoring experience is required to become a PHS Peer Tutor. Just come into the Counseling Office to fill out the form or sign up at our table on club day.

After-School Study Support Program

The After School Study Support program is available Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, from 3:15pm to 4:45pm in the PHS Library. It is staffed by Resource Specialists and General Education Teachers, as well as instructional aides. While students are not required to attend, we hope they will use this opportunity to receive academic support on campus after school. This program is free for all PHS students.

Students may drop-in Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday from 3:15pm to 4:45pm in the PHS Library. This program is a place for either quiet study or direct instructional support.
