Millennium High School Community Dinner

MHSMillennium High School, Piedmont’s alternative high school, is a community of self-paced, independent learners.  One of MHS’s truly unique traditions is its annual Community Dinner, which is this Sunday, March 22 from 4:30 – 7:00 pm at the Veterans Hall.  The Community Dinner is open to all.  Tickets ($20 per person, students are free) are available here:

Started by MHS students in 2011, the purpose of the Community Dinner is to promote a sense of community and raise money for MHS’ school-wide retreats, which are held every other year at Camp Augusta.  The annual dinner is planned, organized, cooked and served entirely by the students.  The students learn valuable skills in event planning, time management, cooperation, collaboration, financial planning, and culinary arts.
The MHS Parent Club has added to the Community Dinner and augmented the fundraising by creating a silent auction.  This year’s auction includes a range of classes and items, including a sailing class, jewelry-making party, and a Fender Squier Tele Electric Guitar signed by Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong, among other items.  For more information on the auction, see:
