It may have been awhile since you’ve taken a look at the PHS Profile, but doing so is a great refresher on what makes our small public school a special place. With more than two thirds of the staff holding Master’s or Doctorate Degrees and more than 50% having greater than 15 years of experience in education, PHS’s API score is 908 with a rank of 10 (highest ranking) and is #140 in public high schools nationally according to US News & World Report.
Of the PHS graduates of the class of 2013/14, 88% attended a four-year college or university and 12% attended 2-year colleges or had specific post graduate plans. The spectrum of schools attended ranged from the UC’s to the Ivy’s to International Universities to private colleges and more. See the CCC blog http://phsgradsatcollege.com/ to read about PHS graduate’s experiences.
AP & honors classes; award winning programs in Journalism, Art, Drama & Music; Mock trial; Athletics; Wellness Center & a full range of Social Emotional Learning programs, Readmont & the Bird Calling Contest – all these and more contribute to the well rounded experience a student attending PHS has. We have a lot to be proud of! School administrators and teachers welcome the partnership of the PHS Parents’ Club and other support groups who make many of these programs possible through funding and volunteerism.
