The second event in the 2014-2015 Piedmont Education Speaker Series (ESS) features best-selling author Po Bronson, who will discuss the findings from his book NurtureShock: New Thinking About Children on Tuesday, October 21, from 7:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. in the Alan Harvey Theater at Piedmont High School. In NurtureShock, Bronson and co-author Ashley Merryman examine the science of parenting, turning on its ear most current conventional wisdom on best parenting practices. Bronson will cover a variety of parenting techniques and topics and address all stages of childhood, from toddlers to teens.
A book-signing and post-event reception hosted by the Piedmont Educational Foundation will take place immediately after the presentation. A Great Good Place for Books will be selling copies of Bronson’s book starting at 7 p.m.
ESS is presented by the Piedmont Unified School District, with the support of the Associated Parent Clubs of Piedmont, Piedmont Educational Foundation, and Piedmont Parents Network. ESS events are open to everyone. Families with students in Piedmont schools can sign up for the full series through online registration. At this time, tickets for individual events cannot be purchased in advance. Tickets will be available at the door for $10. As always, PUSD Staff are welcome to attend for free. Please be prepared to show your PUSD ID badge.
