Overview of Key Dates/Timing for Havens Principal Selection Process

Publish letter for Post, PATCH and Piedmont Portal describing the search process
Broadly publicize position in targeted mailings, online and in education publications (Principal Brochure)
Conduct in-person meetings with Havens teachers, staff and parents to solicit input on key qualities and interview questions
Execute email survey to Havens parents to solicit input on key qualities, interview questions and suggest volunteers for the Interview Panel
Identify teachers (5) and staff (2) for Interview Panel
Identify parents (3-4) for Interview Panel 

March
Internal and External Application Deadline - March 12th

Review by Sr. Administrators to develop short list for Round 1 interviews

Conduct Round 1 Interviews with Interview Panel  (ca. 12 member panel, including Teachers, Staff, Administrators, Parents and Wildwood Principal) - Wk. of March 18th

April
Conduct Round 2 Interviews with Sr. Administrative Staff and School Board and possibly visit applicants on site (April 2 - 13th)

May
Finalize selection and present to Board of Education - May 9th

To Promote Communication

In addition to monthly meetings, the Parents Club promotes communications by sponsoring various parent education events. Education Affairs Forums on curriculum topics of significant interest to a large portion of the parent community are hosted three to four times per year. At these events, our principal, teachers, and/or resource specialists provide in-depth information and discussion opportunities.
