Principal's Message:
March 10, 2010
Please note: March 31st is NOT an Emergency Drill with student
release. During the next few months we will be holding internal
emergency drills focusing on district communication, but there is
NOT a district-wide drill scheduled for March 31st.
Due to our conference schedule , all students are riding the
buses the same time both to and from school, which means they are quite
full. Please be sensitive to this situation when planning
play-dates and other activities that require your child to ride a bus
home that is different from his/her regular bus. If
possible, please make arrangements for after school activities
that do not require a change of buses. This way we can make sure
that a particular route is not overcrowded. Thank you for your
support..
Our lifeskills for the next two weeks is Courage: to act according to one's beliefs despite fear of consequences. Courage is having the mental or moral strenght to do what needs to be done despite problems, fear, danger or consequences. A courageous
person is one who repeatedly faces the difficutles and challenges that
life delivers and perseveres no matter what the barriers or
consequences may be. When we hear the word, courage, other
terms such as bravery, heroism, determination, and risk-taking come to
mind: each one of these implies a sense of strenght that empowers an
individual to move beyond fears when confronting any dilemma.
Scientists, writers, artists, inventors, politicians, teachers, and parents-to name a few- use the LIfeSkill of courage
in everyday life. It is a necessary ingredient for developing
character because it allows us to continue exploring and growing..

Sincerely,
Tery Susman tsusman@piedmont.k12.ca.us
