PIEDMONT UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON INTENT TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT

FOR CONSTRUCTION OF

ENERGY CONSERVATION FACILITIES

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Education of the Piedmont Unified School District (“Board”) shall hold a public hearing to authorize the award of two separate contracts for construction of energy conservation facilities. (“Contracts”) Pursuant to the provisions of California Government Code Section 4217.12 (a), the Board will determine whether it is in the best interests of the Piedmont Unified School District to enter into the Contracts.

The Contracts are for the following projects:

  • The replacement of the current metal halide lighting fixtures with LED lighting fixtures at Witter Football Field to be awarded to CalLighting and RDM Electric Co., Inc.; and
  • The replacement of the current heating system at Frank C. Havens Elementary School, Egbert W. Beach Elementary School, Wildwood Elementary School,  and Piedmont High School 30’s Building with a VRF system to be awarded to Kevin Sullivan Heating & Air, Inc.

For further information regarding the Contracts, please contact the District Office at (510) 594-2614, or you may review the packet of material at the District Office located at 760 Magnolia Avenue, Piedmont, CA, after May 18, 2018.

At such time the testimony of all interested persons for or against the proposed Contracts will be heard.  If you wish to comment on this matter, you may either speak at the hearing or submit your written comments prior to the hearing to the District Office at the address listed above.  Any protest pertaining to the regularity or sufficiency of the proceedings shall be in writing and shall clearly set forth the irregularities and defects to which the objection is made.  The District may waive any irregularities in the form or content of any written notice, and at the hearing may correct minor defects in the proceedings.  Written protests may be withdrawn, in writing, at any time before the conclusion of the hearing.
