Educational Technology and Conservation Exchange Program

We have been participating in a program that generates free computer products for our classrooms. This program is called Educational Technology and Conservation Exchange Program, otherwise known as ETCEP™.

Our school is collecting empty laser and ink jet printer cartridges, and old cell phones from our community. Collected cartridges and phones earn points, which are then exchanged for thousands of different classroom technology products.

These products include computer systems, scanners, modems, printers, software and audiovisual equipment. So far we have exchanged points for upgrading our existing computers with USB ports. Every classroom now has a computer with USB so that it can connect to scanners, printers, digital cameras and other peripherals that use USB.

Your place of employment can participate in ETCEP through the Adopt-A-School Program. Your employer may pledge their empty laser and ink jet cartridges to our school and we receive all points generated by the return of those cartridges. Keep in mind that this is a free program. ETCEP provides both the collection kits and prepaid UPS shipping labels.

All members of the Piedmont community are encouraged to help collect empty cartridges. Cartridges can be sent to school with your child and/or dropped off at the school office. If you would like to host an additional drop-off location for community cartridges, please contact the school.

Your support of the ETCEP Program will help to teach our children that recycling makes dollars and sense. Your support will also provide greatly needed technology to our classrooms.
