In Case of Emergency...
The Piedmont Unified School District has adopted an extensive Emergency Plan based on the Incident Command System used by most school districts in California. All District and Site personnel have been trained in the implementation of this plan through drills, workshops and periodic staff reviews.
The main focus of the adopted Incident Command System Plan is to insure the safety of all students and staff in the event of an emergency.
If an emergency does occur, e.g, earthquake, please note the following:
• Do not phone the school – outside phone lines may be needed to contact outside emergency services
• Do not rush recklessly to the school
• Become familiar with your school’s student Emergency Release procedures
• Be sure your student is aware of your family plans and the names on their Emergency Cards to whom they may be released
All sites have food and water for emergencies that may last 24 + hours. All staff are designated emergency workers and, in most cases, will remain with students.
A copy of the complete Emergency Plan is available at each site. |
